Is This A Forest?

Is This A Forest?

H, I thought of a funny story from our recent Disney trip that I forgot to jot down.

When we landed in Orlando, we got off the airplane and made our way through the terminal to the Disney buses.

After a short wait, the bus we were on finally left to take us to our resort.

As we headed down the highway, not 5 minutes for the airport, more of Florida began to show itself.

You sat on your knees beside mom looking at the window.

As you did, you slowly turned around and asked:

Uh, dad. Is this the forest?”

I nearly laughed and answered:

Well, yes. There are a lot of trees down here, huh?”

You nodded back and kept looking out the window in bewilderment.

I didn’t realize it at the time, but you had never seen that many trees at once.

My West Texas girl.

Let’s travel more.

I love you.

Word Taco

The Word Taco Is A Great Word To Learn

H, you have learned to write the word Taco.

The first word that you learned to write completely on your own was your name.

And now the second is Taco.

Well – I think you know how to write “MOM” and “DAD” too – now that I think about it.

Nevertheless, you have been writingTACO” frequently here and there while doodling the past few days.

There are about 20 Post-it notes around the house with the word on it.

Today your teacher texted and told us you were writing it at school too.

I could not be more proud.

We are a family of taco lovers, after all.

My darling.

I love you.

Harmenu

Harmenu

K, you have taken to singing the word “Harmenu.”

Phonetically, it is said more like “Har-mi-new.”

I think you got it from H – and by proxy, you – watching the animated movie Trolls.

There is this part where they sing the same overlapping notes in different octaves.

Harmony!…Harmony!…Harmony!”

Well, forget harmony – you say harmenu instead.

Every week or so we sit around the dinner table and sing to each other.

Harmenu! Harmenu! Harmenu!”

Your face lights up when we do.

I love you.
