Water, No Lemon

Water, No Lemon

H, You are so perfect right now.

Now you do get mad, you pitch fits, you whine.

It can be infuriating.

But in the same breath, all I can think is that you could not be be more wonderful.

And the things you say, the faces you make, the mannerisms you have, you are hilarious.

So, you have taken to ordering your own food.

And today we went to eat at Cracker Barrel for dinner.

A college-aged guy came by the table and asked what we wanted to drink.

Mom said: “Water, with Lemon.”

Before anyone else could speak, with your pink sunglasses still on, you said: “Water, no Lemon.”

As you said it, you waved your hand once from right to left at the wrist.

We all started laughing.

It was so funny!

The waiter smiled and teased you for the rest of the meal like you had stolen the show.

You had.

You are perfect.

I love you.

Tubes In Your Ears

Tubes In Your Ears

K, You got tubes in your ears today.

Mom and I got up, quickly dressed, made coffee to-go, and got you to the hospital by 6 AM.

Gammies came and slept over so H would not wake up to an empty house.

You cried and cried in the recovery room and slept hard when we finally got you back to the car.

My sweet baby.

It all went fast though.

We were headed home by 8 AM but drove around for a bit, you were sleeping so well.

You are totally our second kid though.

I think we babied H for nearly a week after she got tubes.

By lunch, we were planning on taking you to the swimming pool for the first time.

I love you.

ENT Visit

ENT Visit

K, We had an ENT visit today.

Well, I went to work, and mom was supposed to take you to the ENT.

But at about 9 AM, her car wouldn’t start – so I got to go too.

We had you laughing in the doctor’s office.

The long and short of it is that you are getting tubes put in your ears tomorrow at 7 AM!

We have to be at the office by 6.

So tomorrow is going to be a long day.

I will keep you posted.

I’m tired now.

I love you.
