Rocking Babies To Sleep

Ok.

Word of advice:

Rock your children whenever you get the chance.

And I just wanted to say thank you for this evening.

When your mom and I went to lay you down for bed tonight, you got up and asked me to come sit with you, and rock, in the rocking chair.

This typically entails an arm motion by you as you say “Lesgo Dada.”

You usually do this as a ploy to avoid sleeping. And because of this, you usually want to be rocked for about 30 seconds.

Tonight was different.

You let me rock you to sleep!

I can hardly remember the last time that that happened.

Suspiciously, you hardly ever ask mom to rock you (even for 30 seconds).

It would warm her heart if you asked her every now and again – but feel free to ask me again too.

I love you.

Pray

My Morning Prayer

I (try to) pray this most mornings:

Thank you for another day.

Thank you for my family and friends and the opportunity to spend time with them and you here in this short life.

(Psalm 39:4)

Please give me the clarity today to see, and the will to work on, the good deeds you have laid out in advance for me today.

(Ephesians 2:10)

In everything that I do and say today let me show the fruits of your spirit. Let me show love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

(Galatians 5:22-23)

I also pray that you focus my mind on loving others and loving you. Mold me into someone who is patient, kind, does not envy, does not boast, and is not proud.

(1 Corinthians 13:4)

I ask for your wisdom in all the decisions that face me today.

(James 1:5)

And I ask forgiveness from all of my sins against you. Please give me a clean heart and a renewed purpose for you today.

(Psalm 51)

Thank you for my salvation and life in you. Draw me to you that I may know you more and more everyday.

(John 17:3)

Amen.
I love you so much.
