Nearly Unconsolable

T, you are going through a phase.

Woooo, mama, you are.

For the last few weeks, you have been nearly unconsolable two to three school day mornings per week.

It starts when something does not go as you expected.

And – as three-year-olds will do – you lose it.

I try to be helpful, but you always want Mom after it’s that bad.

And this is the time of the morning when mom has the least amount of time to stop and hold you.

She is packing lunches and helping H and K get ready, and getting herself ready too.

I think this morning you screamed and cried for over half an hour.

It started with you not wanting to wear a uniform.

Then you were just angry at everything.

This too shall pass.

And we are trying to cherish the frustrating moments too.

Muh Tay Tay.

I love you.

Snaggle

K, you are officially a snaggle-tooth for a bit now.

You have had one of the best toothy smiles for so long now…

The most perfect set of beautiful little teeth…

Annnd – you just lost one of your front teeth.😢

You came home on Monday with your mouth covered, pretending to be a ventriloquist with one of my old toys, Spike.

I didn’t catch on.

But five minutes later you let a smile slip in the bathroom mirror and I immediately started yelling for Mom.

No joke: Watching y’all grow up and change is hard!

I love you.

Lion King Broadway

This weekend saw the Lion King Broadway show everyone raves about.

I think Mom even saw it in New York.

It was fine and all, but it sure was expensive for what boils down to an elaborate puppet show.

I mean, we paid $100 per seat and sat high up in the balcony looking straight down.

Rating: I give it a Meh out of a 😐.

T, the best part was that you fell asleep on my chest after intermission.

The chair hurt my back and both my legs fell asleep – but it was bliss.

I may have snoozed a little bit too.

I love you.
