Focus On

Focus On

Live life looking up at God and not worrying and focus on the trivial parts of life.

C.S. Lewis said:

“If you read history you will find that the Christians who did most for the present world were precisely those who thought most of the next. It is since Christians have largely ceased to think of the other world that they have become so ineffective in this.”

Romans 8:5-11:
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

I hope you read.

Reading Often

I hope you find yourself reading often.

I fell in love with books at an early age in my mother’s lap as she read to me – I hope you do the same.

Watching great movies is one of my favorite things to do.

You know this.

But letting your imagination run with a beautifully written book is just perfect.

You can learn a ton from reading non-fiction as well.

A fervent reading appetite also happens to be the key to writing well.

I love you.

Very Short

Very Short

Life is so very short.

It can be so hard sometimes – but it will all be over in a blink.

James 4:14:
What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.

Live in the moment and make your short time here matter.

But, don’t make this life, these things around you, and this world’s beauty be the most important thing.

Let eternity with God put your life and your priorities in the proper context.

I love you.
