Morning Homework

K, you did some morning homework a few weeks ago and I forgot to document it.

See, you had a respiratory infection and the doctor had you on antibiotics and some steroids.

The steroids are a necessary evil – but I don’t love y’all taking them.

Why?

It gives you an insatiable appetite and makes it nearly impossible to sleep well (roid rage and all).

All that to say, you are 8 years old, and with steroids giving you a boost of extra energy, you woke up at 4 AM.

What did you do? Watch TV? Play Legos?

You got out your math packet (not due for a week) and finished it alone in the dark morning hours…

I mean, 🤣.

Seriously though, I am so proud of how you are doing in school.

You get your work done without being prodded, and you get nearly a 100 on everything you touch.

Point and case?

The last report card you got – you had a grade of 94 in P.E. – and it was your lowest grade!

I love you.

Kissing Girls

H, it was raining when we woke up today.

The morning’s chaos was soon over and we were all out the door to school.

We dropped K off as usual, but we were running behind so I didn’t get to walk her to her classroom door.

It rained here and there as we drove to the other campus but finally stopped as we got there.

I helped you carry your “jazz flute” across the parking lot.

We said our goodbyes near the door and then I leaned over and kissed your forehead.

The instant I did, the sky exploded in rain.

I mean, it went from not raining at all to absolutely pouring in less than a second.

And it all happened the instant I kissed you. 🥰

We both screamed and ran our opposite ways.

My word.

I have kids to drop off. I got work I have to do today.

And I’m just playing around about town kissing girls in the rain.

I love you.

Trump Vance 2024

We all stayed up late last night and watched the election.

And Trump won!

All three of you marched around the living room chanting.

Trump-Vance 20224! Trump-Vance 20224!

Mom even put a sign in the yard a few days ago.

Crazy times.

I love you.
