Allergic To Penicillin?

It was a good Father’s Day.

But T, you came down with strep, so mom stayed home with you off and on all day…

H and K, you and I went to church and sat with Pop and Gammies.

But get this…

While we were at church, T and mom went back to the doctor because T had an allergic reaction to her antibiotic!

T, are you allergic to penicillin?!

We ate a hurried lunch afterward, and then I took y’all (H and K) to the Texas Tech pool.

We swam all afternoon – because Father’s Day is a swim day.

And we got back home in time for dinner where we got Bingam’s BBQ and ate at Pop and Gammmies house.

To keep the party going, H and K, ya’ll talked us into letting you stay and spend the night.

Mom, T, and I went home to familiar beds and watch movies until it was late.

I feel kissed by the sun.

I love you.

Another Sleepover

Big day today.

Hannah Foy is in town and sleeping over this week to go to vacation bible school.

K, you slept at Pop and Gammies house last night after we all stayed up late running through the sprinklers and looking through Pop’s telescope at the moon.

Everyone slept in this mornIng.

T went to school about 9.

K came home to play with H and Hannah around 10.

Mom got home for lunch at 11:30 – and I finally went to work at noon.

From 1 – 5, K was at Rock Solid, H and H were at VBS, T was at school, and mom and I were back at work.

Whew…

Then we ate Rosa’s for dinner and went swimming at the Texas Tech pool!

By the time we got home, showered, and tried to wind down, K was headed back to Pop and Gramms for another sleepover.

Gosh we’re all tired.

G’night!

I love you.

Church Golf Carts

H and K, you and I went to church today without mom and T.

T had a little bit of fever – and mom had a touch of stomach bug.

Anyway, I wanted to take a second and point out the rides we take every week in the church golf carts.

We always park in the far back lot against the west fence.

It’s a good hundred yards or so back to the church, but I enjoy the walk.

With that size parking lot, the church provides a golf cart service to shuttle people from their cars up to the nearest doors.

So as we park, there are always half a dozen retirement age volunteers roaming the lot in golf carts, looking for arriving cars.

Let me tell you: You girls live for these morning golf cart rides.

So they come to get us and we all sit wherever we happen to jump on.

H you and I have taken to sitting on the backward-facing back bench the last few times.

But here is the thing.

K, you always sit in the front passenger seat beside the driver. Always.

And you always ask half a dozen questions in the brief time you are there.

It is so cute and so sweet.

Those old men with granddaughters of their own just love talking to you.

I hope you are blessing their day half as much as you bless mine.

I love you.
