Third Day In Bakersfield

Well now, my third day in Bakersfield was a bust.

CEO took me on a tour of the warehouse facilities this morning.

We talked shop and ate these giant breakfast burritos with the warehouse manager…

But driving out, a new co-worker called and said they had just tested positive for COVID.

In short, the woman set to start training me after lunch said she would not come into the office now.

With no reason to stay, I have been sent home to do my training over the phone now.

I kind of can’t believe it. Ugh….

It will be fine.

See you tomorrow!

I love you.

Second Day In Bakersfield

At I suspected, my second day in Bakersfield was kind of a whirlwind of a day.

Lots of introductions when we got to the office, and then we had an early conference call with “Amcot” that I sat in on.

After that I spent a good bit of time with IT getting email, credit cards, and cell phone set up.

Of course, a lot of small talk in there too…

The CEO and I ate lunch at Champs Smokehouse BBQ, where I tried “tri tips” for the first time.

It’s a California thing, apparently?

After that was a Sales/Logistics call and a short hedging discussion in the afternoon.

We ate dinner at K C Steakhouse.

Tomorrow officially starts my training.

I love you.
