No More Texting Profanity

Mom says no more texting profanity to her anymore.

I know, it’s a terrible habit.

She’s right though.

But when I’m angry, I feel like I just need to say that:

#!@*&%

I know. I know.

I’m gonna stop.

First, I need to stop because – I need to stop.

And second, I need to stop because – H, you can legit read most anything I put in front of you.

All I need is you in Sunday School sounding out some ridiculous thing I said in a moment of anger…

I want to be the best version of myself…

I love you.

Buddy Holly Hall

We were bad today.

We didn’t make it to church.

See, K, last night was your first dance recital!

The long and short of it is that you were perfect.

You practiced so much, you looked adorable, and you did absolutely fantastic.

They only hiccup was that the concert started at 6:30 – and your little group of girls was scheduled to be the third or fourth dance to go on.

And then somehow your classes’ slot got moved to just before intermission.

It was probably 8 PM by the time y’all went on. I think you yawned 4 or 5 times during your routine!

Anyway, it was fun and it was the first time we all got to go into the new Buddy Holly Hall building.

We didn’t get home until 9:30. And we didn’t get all you kids in bed until around 10:30.

Pop and Grams came to watch too and T – we even got you a babysitter for the first time.

I was such a big day: We had a basketball game just after lunch, a birthday party at 2:00 (K’s friend Opie), and then the dance recital in the evening.

Whew.

Even I had a hard time winding down. I was still puttering around the house well after midnight…

So we all woke up late – mom and I craving coffee and Advil – and we missed church.

I love you.

Looking For Shade

Last day of school today…

H, you have finished the first grade!

You had a big field-trip to Blazing Bouncers and the park all afternoon.

I did not get to go but mom chaperoned.

Trouble was, you didn’t feel very good today.

You are run down and have a low grade fever.

If I had to guess, I think you have a cold…

You felt so bad, we even let you skip basketball practice this evening.

K, you have finished Pre-K(3)!

Your class had a pizza and swim party.

Your class set up a slip-n-slide, a water slide, and even had a big water balloon fight.

I stayed for the whole thing and only had one complaint.

It was so hot!

I nearly sweated through my work clothes and spent too much time looking for shade.

I am so proud of y’all. You both had fantastic years, although I have a sense that three years went by over the past 12 months.

Anyway. I am super tired. What a big day.

Off for a Kerrville Memorial Day tomorrow.

I love you.
