First Golf

First Golf

H, today was your first golf outing ever!

We went to Seminole and played 9 holes with Pop.

It was fabulous.

I told you about it a day or two before and I think you woke up at 4 AM trying to get ready to go.

My girl.

You were so excited.

It’s Friday, so I took off work and broke you and K out of school to go.

You and I played golf and K spent time at the house with Gammies.

We got a two chocolate frosted donuts on the way out of town and ate them on the first hole after we teed off.

I also got you a Gatorade in the clubhouse before we started. You chose the red one and sipped on it the rest of the day.

You seemed to love riding in the golf cart with us.

After we finished, we all got McDonald’s and ate lunch back at Pop and Gammies house.

We lounged and watched TV until about 2:30 or 3 before we headed back home.

You and K slept the entire way back.

It was such a good day.

I love you.

First Dentist

First Dentist

K mamas, you had your first dentist appointment today!

You and H had appointments to go to the dentist a week or two ago, but we canceled them because everyone was sick.

The dentist office said they would not be able to get you in again for a few months, but they called a few days ago and said that they had an opening.

H went first and did absolutely fantastic for the first time.

Not a tear was shed.

K, when it was finally your turn, you cried and cried like we were trying to give you away.

Thankfully the dentist was fast.

In no time flat, you were finished and had a sticky sucker in your left hand, headed to the car.

H and mom even brought you a yellow balloon they got during checkout.

My little biscuit.

I love you.

Nursemaid Elbow

Nursemaid Elbow

K, you got Nursemaid elbow this last Friday.

Or, said more correctly:

H gave you Nursemaid’s elbow this last Friday!

I got home from work at 5:15.

By 5:30, K you were screaming in pain and we thought you had a broken arm.

It started with you girls being crazy.

You were running and screaming and playing – because even kids can feel when it’s Friday.

Mom and I stepped out of the bedroom for a minute and then all we heard was screaming.

After a lot of coaxing, I learned from H that she was on the bed, holding you by the hands, trying to pull you up from the floor.

I think at one point, I was the only person in the house not crying.

We whisked everyone to the ER and were – thankfully – talking to a doctor in less than 15 minutes.

K, while you screamed in protest, the doctor popped your elbow right back into place.

By the time she explained it all to us, you were already moving your arm better.

I thought mom was gonna try to kiss that doctor.

I love you.
