My Sister Needs To Sleep

My Sister Needs To Sleep

H, Sometimes “my sister needs to sleep.”

See, we are having issues getting everyone to take a nap on the weekends.

You simply don’t want to.

And K naps right now at random times.

So in order to get everyone to rest, we usually take a short drive on the weekends

I don’t wanna rest!” is usually the response you give us.

To fix this, we have started blaming it on K.

We just say:

No, H. You don’t have to rest. But K needs to rest. So we are just going to take a short drive.”

You have bought our rationale and have started agreeing with us.

You say:

Yeah, we need to go for a short drive because my sister needs to sleep.”

Ten minutes after we leave, you always fall asleep too.

I still see you as the adorable baby you were a few short years ago.

And sometimes, I see glimmers of you as a 25-year-old.

I love you.

Ode To Baby Chub

Ode To Baby Chub

K, I just need to write a quick post about your baby chub.

Oh man.

It is so beautiful, so wonderful.

It’s intoxicating.

You have delicious rolls up and down both arms and legs.

I even counted it the other day on your arm.

There is a crease of baby chub between your forearm and your wrist, from the bottom half of your forearm to your top half, another roll at your elbow, another crease between your elbow and shoulder, and another at your arm pit.

And that’s just your arm!

As soon as I start kissing one arm, the other reaches to grab my hair.

Your legs too are always kicking and moving.

Your sweet belly.

Your double knees!

And don’t even get me started about your cheeks!

H, you were the exact same way.

I love you both so much.

Don’t get another day older.

I love you.

Love Swimming

Love Swimming

I’m excited. I just love swimming.

It’s that time of the year again.

We are headed to get our summer membership passes.

It’s pool time!

Wake up early on Saturday.

Small breakfast.

At the pool by 10 AM.

Sunscreen.

A cold Coke.

As many laps around the lazy river as we can manage before it gets too hot.

Grab fried chicken strips on the way home.

Showers.

Naps.

This is one of my favorite times of the year.

Maybe one day we can add Tennis and/or Golf too.

I love you.
