Beaver Creek

Beaver Creek To Santa Fe

If I have not already taken you again, take the time to make the drive from Beaver Creek, Colorado to Santa Fe, New Mexico.

You essentially take Highway 24 / Highway 285 the entire way.

If you go in the early to mid-summer, the valleys will all be green and the mountains will all be white.

It is one of the prettiest drives I have ever done.

H, we made the trip this week after staying in Beaver Creek, but at the age of two – I am not sure you completely appreciated it.

You asked most of the way:

Bear! Where are you?”

I love you.

Kids

Kiss Bruises and Bumps

Always remember to kiss your kid’s bruises and bumps.

There is a perfect age range where mom and dad can kiss your “owie” and life is just made perfect again.

H, we were playing yesterday and you accidentally threw a plastic teacup into my forehead.

It hurt!

I immediately covered my hand over the spot in pain.

You stopped and in the most precious voice ever, said “Sowwy.”

I said, “Awww. Thank You.”

To which you leaned over and kissed my forehead better.  You are 22 months old.

Thank you for kissing my owies all better too.

I love you.

Kiss Your Children

Kiss Your Children

Kiss your children anytime they will allow you.

And when they don’t want you to kiss them – scoop ’em up anyway – and give them a big quick kiss on the cheek!

Anyway, today you turned 20 months old, H.

And tonight, just after your mom and I laid you down in your bed to sleep, and were saying goodnight, you made a “Mmmm” sound, and moved your head a few inches toward me.

I was not sure what you wanted, so I got down closer.

You did it again and then got up to get me.

I leaned in and kissed you on the lips and immediately after I did, you contently laid back down to go to sleep.

Oh, gosh.

You don’t need my heart. You already have it.

I love you.
