Long Live The King

H and K, y’all are so silly.

I have got to tell you this story before I forget it.

You two reenacted the Mufasa death scene from The Lion King the other day and it was the funniest thing ever.

H, you called us into the bedroom as K knelt at the foot of the bed and reached her arms toward you.

H let out a roar as she quickly grabbed K’s hands, using her fingernails as claws. K then fake screamed in pain.

As K reeled, H leaned forward and whispered in her ear:

Long Live The King!

K fell backward in slow motion, and finally lay motionless on the carpet.

I would give you both Oscars if I could.

Ha!

I love you.

Extra Morning Time

K, we had a bit of extra morning time today.

And – well – that idea is so new around here, I just about didn’t know what to do with myself.

We all, of course, took H to her first day of kindergarten yesterday. But not today.

Mom took H to school. And K, I took you.

But two things:

1. H’s school is nearly across town, and K, your school is two blocks away.
2. H’s school starts at 7:45, and K, your school starts at 8:00.

So while mom is leaving the house to take H at 7:25, I can easily get you where you need to go by leaving the house at 7:55.

We created 30 minutes out of nothing!

Since this could become a regular thing, I let you decide what we would do with our newfound freedom.

Naturally, we got in my car and watched Storybots on my phone as we sat in the driveway together.

I’ll take it.

I love you.

Scorpion Hunting

When we went to the beach recently, the highlight of the entire trip was late night scorpion hunting with Grandpa.

First of all, scorpions mostly come out at night.

And second, with a black-light shined on them, scorpions light up at night like little yellow glow-sticks.

So we crept out late into the dark of night with a blue-light flashlight and a BB gun and went hunting for scorpions along the front bank of the house.

You girls loved it.

If I remember right, we killed 5 the first night and 4 the second night.

Good times.

I love you.
