Prayer Fights

Prayer Fights

H and K, when we eat dinner, y’all frequently have prayer fights.

The last week or two has been unusually contentious.

By that I mean you girls fight about who is going to pray first.

You make ugly faces at each other while the other is praying.

And you interrupt each other.

Ya’ll even say “Amen” to finish the other’s prayer so you can start yours.

And no, if you are asking. No I can’t get anyone at the table to close their eyes during all of this.

We laugh through all of it though – and y’all are as beautiful as a desert rose.

I love you.

Those Pants

Those Pants

Forgot to tell you this story.

It happened last weekend in Ruidoso.

It was late on Saturday and we had finished swimming. All of you girls were piling into the bathtub to take a bath together.

Yes – it was a giant bathtub.

So all three of you are sitting there while the water is still filling up the tub and H, looks at me and says in an excited tone:

Dad! Why don’t you get in with us!?

I turn around to respond, but before I can say anything, H scrunches her face up in a grossed out way and continues:

Maybe just wear those pants though.

Bahahaha.

I love you.

Ruidoso First

Ruidoso First

We had a Ruidoso first this weekend.

Just the four of us went!

Every time we have ever gone before it has been with Pop and Gammies and your cousins in July.

We left early on Saturday at 8 AM and got back to town on Sunday around 6:00 PM.

When we got to Ruidoso, we ate a late lunch at Cafe Rio, walked downtown on both sides of the street, checked into the MCM Elegante, had an early dinner at Lincoln County Grill, and then swam in the indoor pool until bedtime.

We made a fire and stayed up late watching cartoons.

Sunday we stopped by the downstairs breakfast bar for you kiddos, ate breakfast at Lincoln County Grill, and the went back to the hotel to swim until it was time to check out at noon.

We at lunch at Casa Blanca and poured everyone into the car exhausted.

Random note that the MCM Elegante’s indoor pool is salt water. The water felt less processed, if that is even possible. And I just wanted to get lost in the accompanying hot tub.

It was a quick but relaxing getaway at just the right time.

Can we go back soon?

I love you.
