This Weekend Was Not Terribly Eventful

This last weekend was not terribly eventful, but sometimes you need a weekend like that.

My parents came to see us this weekend – and we simply tried to spend time together.

We tried to spend time together – and mom flat-out put Grandpa to work.

He wired an electric Christmas trees, glued a broken cabinet door back together, bolted down an unsteady toilet, a repaired a hole in our outside fence.

K you were so sweet you followed everyone around all weekend wanting to be held, read to, and loved on.

And H, as my parents were driving away, you and I went outside to wave them goodbye.

I held you, and as they drove off you said:

“I miss them. I hope that they can see us again soon.”

My tender-hearted girls.

I love you.

Santa Needs An Elf

Santa Needs An Elf

It has been about two weeks since Christmas and already it is all a blur.

Everyone had fun and mom and I loved seeing you girls so excited.

Overall, everyone had a favorite gift or two, but mostly:

H, you were interested in what K got.

And K, you were interested in what H got.

But that’s how it goes with siblings, right?

You were both so beautiful that day.

H, you had on Santa pajamas, and K, you had on Elf pajamas.

Because every Santa needs an Elf!

My little 4-year-old Santa and my little one-year-old elf running all over the house.

It was a fantastic Christmas.

I love you.

Y'all Were Crazy Christmas Eve

Y’all Were Crazy Christmas Eve

You were crazy Christmas Eve.

H and K – both of you.

After dinner that is.

It was relatively normal before dinner.

We had pasta.

And then you girls were nearly uncontrollable.

Like you knew something was coming.

Screaming and running through the house – staying up too late

It was perfect.

I desperately love you.
