Long Week

Why It Has Been A Long Week

It has been a long week.

I alluded to this when I said mom had gone to work before school started.

The short of it is that mom has been out of town all week for training.

She is driving back and forth everyday.

But it has been a tax on everyone.

She is getting up earlier that usual, spending four hours a day in the car, and getting home late.

I am waking you up, getting both of y’all ready for school, picking you up after school, and feeding you dinner.

You kids?

Your love-tanks are empty.

You both miss your mama.

You light up when she gets home.

Not only do you light up, you basically want to have a party when you see her at the end of the day.

This is around bedtime.

And this means we all go to sleep late.

Everyone is exhausted.

Come on Saturday.

I love you.

Crawling

When You Started Crawling

K, when you started crawling…

I was in the other room.

Mom was gone to work.

And I was getting coffee, and putting my shoes on in the kitchen.

H was playing on the iPad and said she was tired of you hitting and swiping at her screen.

I told her to move to the other side of our bedroom so you couldn’t get her.

She moved about 10 feet away, but when I came back, you were beside her again.

I about gasped.

So I moved you away from us, and got down in the floor with my camera.

And sure enough, you can crawl!

I may have been out of the room the first time you crawled.

But the second time you crawled, I got it on video.

I love you.

allergies

Allergies Are So Weird, You Don’t Even Know

Allergies are so weird.

No really K, what are you allergic to?

H has peanuts. You have corn, and rice, but what else?

See, this last weekend was a puzzle.

We gave you waffles for breakfast for the first time.

Wheat, milk, eggs, butter, I can’t think of a lot else in waffles.

Can you?

We thought you were fine.

You got sick anyway though.

You threw-up all in your car-seat while we were out running Saturday errands.

H did the same after eating peanuts a few years ago.

Allergies are so weird.

And they do nothing but make a parent worry.

I love you.
