K, you just said your first word!

It’s father’s day.

And I heard it

I heard it, and H confirmed it a few minutes later.

And then, so did Pop.

You can speak!

You said: “dada”

While I think you said it once yesterday, today makes it official.

H was excited too.

I reminded her that her first word was: “dog.”

H laughed at that.

Mom was, however, a little disappointed you didn’t say:  “mama.”

But she will get over it.

K, It was your first time at the pool today!

Your first time in a swimming pool.

We went the pool at the Tech campus.

The water was a little cold, so you were a little bit hesitant at first.

Your eyes were big and wide.

But after a few laps around the lazy river, you were slapping your arm so aggressively, you splashed yourself in the face a few times.

I hope I get to take you swimming a million more times.

K, You got tubes in your ears today.

Mom and I got up, quickly dressed, made coffee to-go, and got you to the hospital by 6 AM.

Gammies came and slept over so H would not wake up to an empty house.

You cried and cried in the recovery room and slept hard when we finally got you back to the car.

My sweet baby.

It all went fast though.

We were headed home by 8 AM but drove around for a bit, you were sleeping so well.

You are totally our second kid though.

I think we babied H for nearly a week after she got tubes.

By lunch, we were planning on taking you to the swimming pool for the first time.
