Intellectual Crisis

Intellectual Crisis

I heard someone once say:

“You are not an adult until you have had an intellectual crisis about your life.”

It is basically a realization of questions similar to:

  • Why do I exist?
  • Am I created?  Or, is my life a cosmic accident?
  • Since I do exist, what am I here for?
  • While I am here, what is my purpose?

When you ask these questions, I hope you continue to find Jesus at the end of it.

Great resources in these questions are:

  • The Purpose Driven Life, by Rick Warren
  • The Case For Christ, by Lee Strobel
  • The Case for Faith, by Lee Strobel
  • Can Man Live Without God, by Ravi Zacharias
  • The Real Face of Atheism, by Ravi Zacharias
  • The End Of Reason, by Ravi Zacharias
  • Mere Christianity, by C.S. Lewis

I love you.

Christ In The Lead

Christ In The Lead

Try to let Jesus lead you in everything.

Man, it’s so hard to remember being prayerful about everything though, isn’t it?

On that, I loved this excerpt from The Hiding Place, by Corrie Ten Boom:

Hans told me in later years that over and over again, she repeated to her children, “Opa taught us, ‘When Jesus takes your hand, he keeps you tight, He leads you through your whole life.  When Jesus leads you thorough your life, he brings you safely home.'”

I love you.

All We Come With

All We Come With

Don’t try to work your way into heaven.

None of us deserve God.

And there is nothing we can do to earn it.

In The Hiding Place, Corrie Ten Boom describes a touching scene with her aunt like this:

“And then as we listed in disbelief she lowered her hands and, with tears still coursing down her face, whispered, “Dear Jesus, I thank You that we must come with empty hands. I thank You that You have done all-all-on the cross, and that all we need in life or death is to be sure of this.””

God’s grace is all that we can ask for – and all that we need.

I am in awe of that fact every time I think about it.

I love you.
