Forgive Me

Forgive Me

Learn to say. “I’m sorry.”

This might be a hard one if you know for a fact that you are right about 99.9% of the time – like your dad.

Ha!

Seriously though – being contrite can heal a lot of wounds, whether you were in the right or not…

I am so sorry for all the times I was mad, mean, or harsh with you when I shouldn’t have been. Please forgive me.

You are perfect.

1 John 1:19:
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

I love you.

Spend Less

Spend Less

Spend less than you make.

That sounds like total common sense – but so many people can’t do it.

Save for the future too.

Dave Ramsey’s 7 Steps are a Good Place to Start:

  • Start a $1,000 emergency fund
  • Pay off all debt using the debt snowball (smallest balances first)
  • Save three to six months of expenses
  • Invest 15 percent household income in Roth IRA’s and pre-tax retirement
  • Save for children’s college
  • Pay off your home early
  • And finally, build wealth and give

I hope you are responsible with your finances and your precious time.

I love you.

— Dad

Fruits Of The Spirit

Fruits Of The Spirit

I hope you pray daily for the fruits of the spirit – and work diligently acting on them.

Man, I try to.

Close your eyes and think of the most uplifting and inspiring people you have known – I bet they showed the fruits of the spirit more than most.

Galatians 5:22-23:
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering [patience], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

John 15:8:
By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.

I love you.
