Reese’s Pieces, Daily

Ok, I love Reese’s Pieces.

I mean, going to the movies as a youth, they were my go-to snack along with a Coke.

Peanut/Tree-nut allergies and all, we have been giving you, T, one or two Reese’s Pieces every night while H and K do their OIT dose.

(K you are not allergic to peanuts but have an aversion because of watching H up close for so long.)

Anyway T – you love Reese’s Pieces.

When you see the bag and I begin to open it, you start kicking your legs and laughing.

Mom or I will bite a piece in half and share it with you.

Your fuzzy hair, crooked smile, and loving disposition is such a joy right now.

I love you.

Snowball Fight

We had the best snowball fight this last weekend.

See, we had about 3-4 inches of snow. (And got a snow day out of it!)

As the day wore on, we decided to go for a short drive and explore the winter wonderland Lubbock had become.

I had to brush and scrape all the snow off my car before we left and, H and K, you both insisted on helping.

As I began brushing off the windshield, the first snowball was thrown.

It escalated from there.

Mom even got in on it as the fight went on and on.

We got snow in our hair and under our clothes. I ended up with some in my mouth and nose.

Mom even managed to fall down once.

All that to say: That was the most fun I have ever had in a snow fight.

It was a great Sunday.

I love you.

Good Christmas

It was a good Christmas.

Everyone was up by 7:30 and read to go!

Mom later told me that y’all (H and K) were up at 3 AM asking to look at presents. Ha!

We opened all of “Santa’s” presents and ate breakfast amidst the carnage and playing.

In the afternoon we watched Soul on Disney+.

Finally, we opened the gifts to each other right before dinner and went for a short family walk after the sun went down.

H, I think your gift highlights were your shrimp, your drone, and your robot.

K, you loved your dance dress, your mermaid house, and your scooter.

And T – I think you enjoyed ruffling the wrapping paper the most!

I enjoyed being with each of you.

It’s so bittersweet to see the Christmases go by.

T, you were beautiful and perfect today – and yet you only get a first Christmas this one time.

But the same is true for all of us.

I will never have a one-year-old, four-year-old, and seven-year-old at Christmas again.

And, frankly, I’ll never be 39 again.

I adore getting to do this beautiful life with you.

I love you.
