Cat, Mermaid, and Cat

Halloween 2020 was a little different this year.

I’ll give it that.

The biggest issue is that trunk-or-treat at church was canceled because of a recent uptick in covid cases.

So the church changed their usual blowout celebration to a simple drive-thru trick-or-treat…

And then that got cancelled too.

Next, we planned on celebrating Halloween with the cousins in Seminole.

But the football teams that Hannah and Chloe cheer for made it into the playoffs and the cousins were not able to make it…

So Pop and Grams came to Lubbock and we all went trick-or-treating together up and down our street.

We also drove across town to Craig’s house just to trick-or-treat and say hi.

Pop and Grams even showed up dressed at pirates! (They looked more like gypsies.)

Honestly, more people were giving out candy on our street that we knew from past years.

We’re usually so tired after church activities we only go to a few houses.

Anyway, we all had barbecue and candy for dinner and called it a night.

H – you dressed as a cat (and wore your wolf shirt).
K – you wore a beautiful mermaid costume.
T – mom dressed you as a snuggly black cat.

I love you.

Come Anyway

Well, rona exposed or not, we went to Midland this weekend anyway.

It turned into one of those back and forth things.

We planned on going for weeks, and then got “exposed.”

Of course, we called and cancelled because we didn’t want to get anyone sick.

But a few days later Aunt Jenny called and told us to come anyway. So off we went.

We left by 8:30 and got there by 10:30 to watch Chloe and Hannah cheer for their football teams.

Chloe cheered first, and then Hannah – each game lasting about an hour and a half.

It was a cool day but the sun was hot and you girls all somehow ended up with mild sunburns. (Not T. Her stroller had enough shade.)

Pop and Gammies showed up too.

We all went to eat at Rosa’s afterward and then hung out at the Daves’ house for a few more hours visiting.

All this stay-at-home coronavirus stuff going on, it was, honestly, just nice to be out of town for the day.

I love you.
