Bill Miller

Bill Miller BBQ has become a guaranteed stop when we go to Corpus.

We get BBQ plates, large teas, too many rolls, and beans to pass around the table.

It’s a little bit dirty. And it’s a little bit delicious.

But the people are always friendly – and gosh I just love spending time with y’all.

I love you.

Sip Of Summer

Tonight is our last little sip of summer.

And I’m up trying to enjoy it for one last second or two.

I mean, it’s crazy if you think about it. I have not had a division between summer and the rest of the year since I was in grad school.

But H starts kindergarten tomorrow at Southcrest and we will have to plan our lives around school schedules for many years to come.

What a blessing to get to do it all again with each of you.

Sleep tight little angels.

The alarm will go off soon.

It’s the last night of summer and I love you to the moon.

I love you.

Good Cop Bad Cop

Full disclosure, mom and I often play good cop bad cop with you.

Of course, I am most often tasked with the role of bad cop.

But here is the thing. The vast majority of the time, I am not really mad at all.

I might go into the living room with a stern voice:

It is 10:30! And if you girls are going to sleep on the air mattress in the living room, it is time to go to bed. Or I can take you to your own bed right now if you don’t want to listen. Close your eyes. And go to sleep.

I may sound mad, but honest to goodness I am often simply trying not to laugh at the ridiculousness of it all.

I love you.
