I hope you tithe.

There is, of course, controversy about whether Christians in the New Testament are required to tithe, or if it was just a law for the Jewish people of the Old Testament.

Jesus talked about the tithe specifically in Matthew 23.

He acknowledges it but also points to larger issues in the same breath.

Giving with the right heart is definitely Biblical.

The tithe should be done in a private manner with your priorities in the right place.

It may sound silly, but the point of tithing is not about giving God 10 percent of your money.

Tithing is about changing your heart.

It’s about houses, and cars and fancy purses, and watches, and bank accounts not being such an important part of your life.

I like what Billy Graham said about it.

Mom and I tithe, and I hope you do too.

Welp, never-mind.

Scratch what I said here about us all picking mom up from the airport tonight.

I woke up to a string of text messages this morning.

The long and short of it is that mom got a stomach bug and was up all night sick.

She is flying back early, and I will go pick her up shortly after lunch.

She says she wished she had just skipped the trip altogether.

Who can blame her?

I hope she doesn’t get us sick!

We’ll be ok.

Everyone just needs some rest.

Everyone was a little sad when mom left us today.

Not for good.

Heavens no.

She wouldn’t know what to do without us.

That girl would be as lost as a puppy at a cat convention without her little troop.

She had a work trip.

This morning at 7 AM, we wished her off on her drive to Austin for a meeting with Leadership Lubbock.

She is flying back tomorrow night and should be home by 7 PM.

We will all go pick her up at the airport when she gets in, really make an event out of it.

Now then, I just have to keep it all held together for the next 27 hours.

Piece of cake.

Of course, there is a little bit more to do, but I am looking forward to having you girls all to myself tonight – barring any diaper blowouts from K – obviously.
