Welp, what a weekend.
Grandma came to visit.
Of course, Grandpa couldn’t come, in the state he is in…
It’s significant because the last time Grandma or Grandpa were in Lubbock was when T was born. 😳
I mean, that was over four years ago!
An old family friend (Randy) drove down and stayed with Grandpa while Grandma came to see us.
I drove to Eden to get her.
Getting older and caring for grandpa 24/7, she looked more tired and frail than usual.
She needed a break.
We showed her all the changes to the house we have done, showed her Pop and Gammies house, took her out to eat a bunch, and spent hours and hours just visiting.
We even took her to church.
It was a nice visit and especially nice to see her here.
Honestly, I can’t believe, my mom is 75.
And my dad is 80 – fighting advanced Parkinson’s.
On my way back to drop her off in Eden, we held hands for a while in the car while we talked.
It made me start to cry thinking about the shortness of life.
We are constantly losing everyone around us, aren’t we?
I already miss 2-year-old T, 4-year-old K, and 6-year-old H.
Deep breath.
I love you.
