Cat, Mermaid, and Cat

Halloween 2020 was a little different this year.

I’ll give it that.

The biggest issue is that trunk-or-treat at church was canceled because of a recent uptick in covid cases.

So the church changed their usual blowout celebration to a simple drive-thru trick-or-treat…

And then that got cancelled too.

Next, we planned on celebrating Halloween with the cousins in Seminole.

But the football teams that Hannah and Chloe cheer for made it into the playoffs and the cousins were not able to make it…

So Pop and Grams came to Lubbock and we all went trick-or-treating together up and down our street.

We also drove across town to Craig’s house just to trick-or-treat and say hi.

Pop and Grams even showed up dressed at pirates! (They looked more like gypsies.)

Honestly, more people were giving out candy on our street that we knew from past years.

We’re usually so tired after church activities we only go to a few houses.

Anyway, we all had barbecue and candy for dinner and called it a night.

H – you dressed as a cat (and wore your wolf shirt).
K – you wore a beautiful mermaid costume.
T – mom dressed you as a snuggly black cat.

I love you.

Lip Smacking

T, you have absolutely got lip smacking down.

It’s your new thing.

And you have a good three weeks practice at this point.

You will pop you lips together and smack them apart over and over.

Now and then, you will get your tongue in there too and pop your lips around your tongue as you open your mouth.

It feels like we are having a conversation when we smack and pop back and forth looking at each other

I love you.

A Pumpkin Is A Type Of

K, I have loved picking you and H up from school the last few weeks.

You are learning all sorts of things – and you often tell me about some of them once I get you in the car.

Last week was a great example.

You decorated a pumpkin that day and were talking about it was we started home.

A second later you announced:

A pumpkin is a type of squash.

H, refused to believe it, but you insisted it was true.

Soon y’all were howling at me to look it up.

You were right! (And so happy that you were proved correct.)

I just love your little truth bombs.

I love you.
