Back Toward Quarantine

Aaaaaand just like that, dad is working from home again.

We had our first positive case in my office on July 2.

All was all good over the weekend.

But Monday morning we got the news.

An unnamed underwriter tested positive for coronavirus.

I am going to give it two weeks and then reevaluate what to do.

  • H, you are enjoying Rock Solid until there is a case there.
  • K, you are at Learning Tree until we know of exposure there.
  • Mom is working form home until further notice.
  • And T, you are at home with us because we have not yet started paying for school.

Life is inching back toward quarantine all over again.

I love you.

Excuse To Get

T, you had your first hotel stay this last weekend!

Fourth of July – Midland. Texas.

We went down to see the cousins and enjoy their pool.

Honestly, we just needed an excuse to get out of town…

I mean, pandemic and all, I can’t even remember the last time we went on a trip.

In short, T, you were fantastic.

Babies in our family (and babies in general) have a long history of not liking going to sleep in new surroundings.

But you did better than we could have hoped for.

We kept you up way past your bedtime, but you were happy as can be when we finally wrapped you up in your papoose and laid you down to sleep.

I can’t wait to travel with you again soon.

We are, after all, a family that loves great hotels.

I love you.

Two Cavities

H, you had your first cavity filled this last week!

(Two cavities, actually.)

Of course, I explained it as:

These little bacteria bugs in your mouth can dig down in the side of your teeth. When they do, the dentist cleans them out for you.

I, uh, certainly did not want to explain that you were about to get two shots directly in your gums.

But you handled it like a total champ!

Much better than I did at the dentist at that age.

In fact, it was such a non-event that you immediately asked to go back to Rock Solid (camp) after we finished…

You have gotten too big and too independent too fast.

I mean, it’s ok to still need your dad sometimes.

Right? Right.

I love you.
