Santa Hats

Santa Hats

Today was Saturday and well, we got Santa hats.

We had pancakes for breakfast and then went to Hobby Lobby and got a few costume accessories for H’s upcoming Christmas pageant.

One of the things she needed was a Santa hat. So, K, we got you one too.

Afterward, we stopped by J. Keith Jewelry.

Mom got her wedding ring cleaned and we got batteries replaced on an old Mickey Mouse watch mom had when she was a little girl.

It still worked!

Pop and Grammies came over after that and ate lunch with us.

We had Taco Villa and they left when it was nap time.

They came back after you girls woke up and we visited until dinner time when we went to Hayashi to celebrate Gammies birthday.

H and K, you were both, as always, mesmerized by the cooking.

My beautiful family.

I love you.

936 Saturdays

936 Saturdays

I realized the other day that you only get about 936 Saturdays at home with your children.

And while that’s about the most depressing thing I’ve ever heard, I like that it does put our limited time into perspective.

I hope I get another 936 Saturdays with you after the age of 18.

But we are not even guaranteed 936, are we?

Today was Saturday though and it got me thinking about – being nostalgic about time already gone, and all.

I love that I get to spend forever with you.

I love you.

The Top Of The Donut

The Top Of The Donut

H, right now you frequently will only eat the top of the donut.

The top 30 – 50 percent.

The icing, if you will.

See, right now your go-to favorite donut is a chocolate frosted donut with sprinkles, from Dunkin Donuts.

I got us all donuts for breakfast this last Saturday – like we do most Saturdays.

Everyone was finished and up from the table when I turned around.

Your donut looked like a little chipmunk had nibbled off all the good stuff.

You make me laugh every day.

And I love you like an earthquake.

I love you.
