Y'all Were Crazy Christmas Eve

Y’all Were Crazy Christmas Eve

You were crazy Christmas Eve.

H and K – both of you.

After dinner that is.

It was relatively normal before dinner.

We had pasta.

And then you girls were nearly uncontrollable.

Like you knew something was coming.

Screaming and running through the house – staying up too late

It was perfect.

I desperately love you.

I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas

I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas

As far as music goes, I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas, was our theme of the 2017 holiday season.

I had never heard the song until a few weeks ago but apparently – it’s a classic.

I stumbled across Kacey Musgraves singing it on her Christmas album while I was trying to find Christmas songs sung by girls.

That is what you always request, H.

I want one with a girl singing!

We have all been singing it for two weeks.

It has been fabulous.

No crocodiles, no rhinosauruses!
I only likes hippopotamuses!
And hippopotamuses like me, too!

I love you.

My Other Grandma Owazy Told Me I Could

My Other Grandma Owazy Told Me I Could

Who is Owazy?

Well H, after mom and I told you to stop doing something forever ago, your response was that your “other grandma” told you that you could.

Mom and I were like, “What’s that now? Your who?!

You said it was your other grandma, “Owazy.

And after that, you told us the most awesome and elaborate story leading up to the fact that your new grandma, Owazy, said that it was ok to again do what we had just told you not to do.

We did not think too much about it but laughed at the vivid imagination of it all.

That was, however, nearly a year ago.

You still talk about her, at least once or twice a week.

Somewhere along the line, you even said something about Owazy’s husband.

We, of course, could not help ourselves.

Sweetheart, who was Owazy’s husband?

Naturally, you explained that he was simply your “other grandpa.”

I should have known that.

And his name is “Grass.”

Owazy and Grass.

I love the stories you tell.

I hope you write them all down one day.

You are perfect.

I love you.
