Whoever Invented S’mores

K, you cracked me up tonight.

See, when we are at the Hyatt in San Antonio, smores are a big deal.

A very deal.

I mean, we stop swimming and show up every night to ask for marshmallows on a stick.

We crowd around fire pits with other families to toast them on the back lawn.

When finished we go back up to the table and they sandwich our fame burnt treats with a chocolate bar and graham crackers.

All that to say this.

We were about to watch tonight’s movie out on the lawn and we were walking along the path going to our room.

When, K, out of nowhere, you said:

Whoever invented s’mores was a good person.

Bahahahahaa. 🤣

I love you.

Last One Year Old

Welp, tonight was my last night ever having a child that is a one-year-old. 😢

Everyone is lying in bed right now and we are all as tired as can be.

We’re at the Hyatt Hill Country in San Antonio.

We drove down from Kerrville mid-morning, swam this afternoon, and watched a movie out on the lawn this evening.

We got Taco Cabana delivered to the hotel and y’all ate in the room like a bunch of pampered princesses.

It’s all quiet and beautiful right now.

And K, you turn two tomorrow!?

I feel like I want to stay up and write something profound and moving, but I am so happily tired that I have to call it quits.

I love you.

Early From School

I am not sure I told you this about my new job or not.

Yes, sure, it’s great that I am back in cotton.

It’s awesome that I get to trade futures contracts for a living.

Yes, it’s fantastic that I don’t have to work at AgriSompo anymore.

I am paid well, I have good benefits, I have a company credit card, and I have more freedom than I have ever had before.

But…

Do you know what the best part is?

The best part is that I get to pick you up from school early every day.

School lets out (3:30 til 4:00) and I get to come and get you then.

You don’t have to go to “afterschool care” until 5:30.

Cutting out early from work and getting you early from school is one of the highlights of my day.

I simply love the extra time.

I love you.
