Lamborghini Party

H, we went to Gia’s birthday party this last Saturday.

She’s a friend in your class at school.

After basketball practice, I took you and Hannah – K even got to come along.

(Mom stayed home with T.)

Anyway, they had a pool party and cookout in their backyard to celebrate.

And I’m gonna be honest, I have never known anyone personally that owned a Lamborghini.

Of course, they had a big nice house (a lot of people do.)

But they had a a massive RV, two Hummers, a truck, and the Lambo.

Money is not everything. I know.

And it will not make you happy – but I’m honestly just stunned.

Owning two cars that are each worth more than most people’s houses is just not something you see everyday.

You girls just soaked up our first real swim of the summer.

I love you.

Last Farm

We went to Seminole for the day today.

It was a good trip but a bit melancholy too.

See, Pop and Gramms are selling the farm.

They have already sold the big pecan orchard…but they are in the process of selling the smaller orchard too.

(The smaller orchard is the “home place” with the barn on it.)

Anyway – this may have been the last time we ever get to go out there – and it’s kind of heard to believe.

Pop bought the place in 1979.

Mom has been going out there her entire life.

Heck, I have even been going out there off and on for a decade…

(After a day of golf I asked Pop if I could marry mom while checking water in the orchard.)

Anyway, we spent half the day at the house in town and finally made it out,

We fed Lightning (Pop’s horse), walked around under the shade of the trees, and took a lot of pictures.

Before we left, Pop took each of you for rides in his tractor and on the four-wheeler.

Mom even took the time and buried Sadie’s old ashes.

Crazy to think that you girls will probably will not remember much of the farm.

H, maybe a little. K, probably not. And T, not a glimmer.

I got all sentimental as we drove out – as I am prone to do.

I am so glad I got to spend my last farm day with you.

I love you.

Breakfast Dog

H, a few weeks ago we needed to go to the grocery store.

We needed to go to the grocery store bad.

It was so dire one morning that instead of having butter and jelly on a piece of sliced bread for breakfast – we used hotdog buns.

Fast forward a few weeks…

Mom told me you asked for a “breakfast dog” this morning.

I had to ask exactly what you meant by that.

Did she want butter and jelly on a hotdog bun?!

Haha!

Oh my gosh, I love you.
