I am not sure how the discussion started.
But at dinner a few days ago, I made a comment about my girls bringing a boy home to meet mom and dad.
It was something along the lines of:
“If she brought home a guy with an M.D. and trust-fund, that was a deacon at church, I’m still not sure he would be good enough for her.”
To which mom said:
“What if she brings home an unemployed economist, that just wants to be a writer?”
I laughed so hard.
And then there was a awkward silence.
Because that’s exactly who I was when mom brought me home.
Other than having a job, I guess that’s who I still am.
