Quiet Times

Quiet Times

I am thankful for quiet times.

For quiet weekend afternoons.

For Saturday’s like today.

Between two and four this afternoon, I sat in the living room and read while I sipped on an unsweet tea.

All the lights were down and everyone in the house was asleep.

It was so quiet and peaceful.

I am so thankful for these little blips of peace.

And maybe next weekend, I’ll nap with everyone too.

I love you.

Turned 38

Turned 38

I turned 38 today.

What kind of a day was it?

Well, I took y’all to school – since mom had an early morning meeting – and on the way we sang Jesus Loves Me in the car.

Standard day at work…

And then mom made waffles for dinner.

I am not sure I could have had a better (week)day birthday.

We even managed to squeeze in a before-dinner dance party in our bedroom.

The best part was spending time with you.

I love you.

I Am Sorry

I Am Sorry

I am sorry.

I’m sorry for every mean thing I ever said to you.

For every time I was not patient and not kind, and for every time I raised my voice when it was inappropriate.

I’m sorry for every time I let you down.

I’m sorry for every time I got my priorities backwards.

I’m sorry for every time I put you above God.

My God – life is so short and beautiful.

Sometimes, I feel like I could nearly explode from it all.

I love you.

I love you so much.
