Fluid Around His Lungs And Heart

Fluid Around His Lungs And Heart

It’s an eventful Friday when you find out your dad has “fluid around his lungs and heart” and was admitted to the hospital.

And that’s just what happened.

Grandpa went it for an exam today at Wilford Hall in San Antonio and ended up staying.

They transferred him to Brooke Army Base sometime later.

He had an irregular heartbeat and fluid around his heart and lungs.

Talked to him tonight and he sounded good though.

Scary stuff.

I love you.

Fire Tonight

Fire Tonight

I made a fire tonight.

Maybe the last one of the year.

It seems like the weather has started warming up, but it’s supposed to be like -20 degrees outside Chicago tomorrow, so who knows.

We are having a low of 19 tonight, so I’m trying to enjoy the cold spell, even if it is short lived.

In fact, I’m typing this on my phone by the fire right now.

Wish you were still awake to hold a rock for a few minutes longer.

Come find me in the morning for a snuggle, won’t you?

My girls.

I love you.

Go Tell It On The Mountain

Go Tell It On The Mountain

Last week in church, we sang Go Tell It On The Mountain during the main service.

It stood out because I don’t think I have heard that song in years.

See, I remember having church in my parent’s house in Saudi Arabia when I was a child.

Every now and then I would play the piano for the congregation while 20 or so of us sang a few songs.

Go Tell It On The Mountain was the first song I ever played in front of our little group.

I can still remember the first time  I played it.

I was nearly overcome with nostalgia when I heard it this last Sunday.

It’s funny the way things happen and then circle back again at an unexpected time.

I love you.
