Relax

Listen To Andrew Peterson

At some point – get all of Andrew Peterson’s music together and listen to it.

Maybe on a weekend away somewhere, over a few cups of coffee and an open Bible.

His lyrics have always touched me with a sadness, joy, and ache for both the human condition and our yearning for God.

I hope you love it as much as I did.

I love you.

Posting Online

I have said before to be careful what you post online.

But for creative types, it is imperative to post your work for others to see.

Like writer Austin Kleon says:

“If there was a secret formula for getting known, I would share it with you. But there is only one not-so-secret formula that I know: Do good work and share it with people.”

On the other hand, what you say online is permanent.

In his book, Show Your Work, Austin Kleon quotes publicist Lauren Cerand on this:

Post as though everyone who can read it has the power to fire you.”

That’s a great way to think about it.

I love you.

Die

Ten Out Of Ten People Die

I just saw a tweet from @GoogleFacts.

It said:

Fact: Ten out of ten people die. Don’t take life too seriously.”

I agree with the statement.  But not the conclusion!

Ten out of ten people do die.

But it does not, therefore, follow that life should not be taken seriously.

Quite the opposite!

Life is short.  Life is beautiful. And our lives echo forever.

I think Andy Andrews said: “Everything you do matters, and it matters forever.”

Reminds me of one of my favorite verses, Psalm 39:4.

I love you.
