Great Christmas Eve

Great Christmas Eve

It was a great Christmas Eve today.

We got donuts for breakfast and all sang Christmas songs around the table while we drank our coffee and milk.

Then we mostly played all morning, and ate at Rosas’s for lunch.

After lunch we even made it in time for a carriage ride at 1:00 when they opened.

Mom and I watched movies while you girls napped.

And then we just made it in time for the 4:30 Christmas Eve service.

For dinner, mom made us waffles – and I even made us bacon to go with it.

We watched Charlie Brown Christmas and then all started getting ready for bed.

Mom and I had intentions of staying up late and watching movies but we didn’t make it long we were so tired.

Mom went to sleep and I showered and read for a little bit before doing the same.

Happy Christmas Eve.

I love you.

Go Tell It On The Mountain

Go Tell It On The Mountain

Last week in church, we sang Go Tell It On The Mountain during the main service.

It stood out because I don’t think I have heard that song in years.

See, I remember having church in my parent’s house in Saudi Arabia when I was a child.

Every now and then I would play the piano for the congregation while 20 or so of us sang a few songs.

Go Tell It On The Mountain was the first song I ever played in front of our little group.

I can still remember the first time  I played it.

I was nearly overcome with nostalgia when I heard it this last Sunday.

It’s funny the way things happen and then circle back again at an unexpected time.

I love you.

The President

The President

H, today you asked if we were going to big church.

When mom told you yes, you wanted clarification and asked if we were going to the contemporary service (in The Venue) or the traditional service in the “big place.”

We laughed, knowing what you meant.

You said:

Good. I like hearing the President talk about Jesus and tell funny stories.

Well – I mean – I don’t know that you are all that far off.

They both usually wear suits and red ties.

Ha!

I love you.
